The Work
Before FocalPoint Studio existed, this is where it all started.
James joined Gymshark in early 2019 as head of content for founder Ben Francis. Over the next four and a half years, he was responsible for filming, editing and shaping the content strategy around Ben and the Gymshark brand. He grew Ben's YouTube channel by 250,000 subscribers and built the content team from one person to three.
During that time, we documented some huge moments. Gymshark becoming a billion-dollar brand. Product launches, team milestones, the behind-the-scenes reality of scaling one of the UK's biggest fitness brands. The content ranged from full-length YouTube documentaries and behind-the-scenes series to brand films and social edits.
This wasn't polished corporate content. It was embedded, long-term storytelling. Being there day in, day out, with a camera, capturing the real journey as it happened. That approach is what built James's reputation and ultimately why he left to start FocalPoint Studio, to bring that same way of working to other brands.
