We're a small video production team that works closely with the brands we believe in. No revolving door of clients, no one-and-done projects. We build relationships and grow with the people we work with.

SCROLL TO SURF
Our Story
FocalPoint Studio started because we wanted to do things differently.
James started filming at 8 years old. By the time he joined Gymshark in early 2019, he'd already spent over a decade behind a camera. At Gymshark, he became the head of content and senior videographer for founder Ben Francis MBE, spending nearly five years documenting the brand's journey, growing Ben's YouTube channel by 250,000 subscribers and building a content team from scratch. That work included being there as Gymshark became a billion-pound brand.
But working with one brand, however good, wasn't the full picture. In mid-2023, James left to start FocalPoint Studio with Ellie, with a simple idea: bring that same embedded, story-first approach to other founders and brands who had something worth saying.
Since then, we've worked with brands like Au Vodka, D.Louise, Ross Edgley, K9 Jets, Whanau and more. Some of those relationships are still going. That's the bit we're most proud of. We don't just turn up, film and disappear. We stick around because the best content comes from actually understanding the people and the brand behind it.
We're based in Worcester. Our team is small. And we think that's a strength, not a limitation.
How We Work
Every project starts with the story. We take time to understand your brand, your audience and what you actually want to say before we pick up a camera. The story drives everything.
This sounds obvious, but it's rare. We want our clients to succeed. We're not interested in transactional relationships where we deliver a video and move on. We invest in the brands we work with because the work is better for it, and so are the results.
Concept, scripting, filming, editing, animation, delivery. We can handle the lot in-house. One team, one point of contact, no need to manage multiple suppliers.
We create content for the platform it's going to exist on. A YouTube documentary and an Instagram Reel are fundamentally different things. We think about format, pacing and audience from the start, not as an afterthought.
